MS Lady Indians drop 3-2 decision to Rabun County
TFS grabs wins at 1- and 2-singles
The MS Lady Indians dropped a 3-2 decision against Rabun County at home on Tuesday, finishing up the regular season. Ruby Sue Anderson and Joanna Neeley nabbed wins at 1- and 2-singles, respectively.
"The girls are really battling for every point," says coach Anthony Cox. "Unfortunately, we came out on the losing side today, but it was just a non-league practice match."
The girls will have another chance to knock off Rabun in the first round of the Southern Mountain League Tournament. With a 3-way tie between Rabun County, Rabun Gap, and TFS for the third spot, a tiebreaker went to Rabun Gap for the three seed. Rabun County represents the fourth seed and Tallulah Falls fifth, meaning the former will host the latter. That match is to be determined.
"It was also a wonderful afternoon to recognize and celebrate our eighth graders for all their contributions to our middle school tennis program," adds Cox. "They have each had an impact in their own ways, and we are proud of them and hope to see them continue playing tennis.
