100 Wins for Cox!
Anthony Cox notches milestone win for TFS tennis
For the fourth time this school year, Tallulah Falls has a coach who reached a milestone win, as Anthony Cox reached #100 on March 13 at Stratford Academy. It was yet another dominant victory, as the Lady Indians won 5-0.
Since taking over the tennis teams at TFS, Cox has elevated the program to unprecedented success for both the boys and girls.
In total (he added win number 101 an hour or two later), his record includes a 46-15 mark for the Indians, and a remarkable 55-3 for the Lady Indians. The 101-18 total record represents an .848 win percentage. In the current season, the boys are 5-4 overall, while the girls are at 9-0 with high expectations.
"The 100 wins milestone is an honor for our entire coaching staff, including Coach Bart Carnes and Coach Jennifer Cox," says Cox. "We have been together for four years now, building on the family foundation that Coach [Randy] Morris laid. We have had some great leaders who have demonstrated the work ethic, commitment, and competitive fire it takes to succeed at a high level."
While several matches are easy to select among his favorites, he has some notable ones that are near and dear.
"Our boys making the state championship match was really special for our program," says Cox. "But to be quite honest, we love to watch our players develop as individuals, tennis players, and teammates. The process is the most important part."
Cox took the Indians to the Sweet 16 in each of the first two seasons (2023-24), and a State Runner-Up finish in 2025. The boys have captured a pair of region titles in that span (2023, 2025). The Lady Indians, meanwhile, have won three straight region championships (2023-25), while making a Final 4 in '25, Elite 8 in '23, and Sweet 16 in '24.
