Season Preview: Girls Soccer
TFS seeks a sixth straight playoff berth in 2026
The clock on the golden era of the Lady Indians soccer team continues to be 'high noon' as it were. There's no sign of slowing down for Tallulah Falls, as the Lady Indians enter 2026 in search of a sixth consecutive state playoff berth.
Just two seasons removed from the girls' first region title, TFS looks to improve off last year's 9-win campaign, which featured a 1st Round (Round of 12) appearance and a #8 state ranking, while coming in runner-up in the region.
"We have a very cohesive team this year and they've all been playing together for years," says coach Erin Jimenez, who enters her third season over the program. "We are a more mature team this year."
Overall, six starters come back from a team that was young in many spots last spring. The program's all-time most decorated player, defensive stalwart Josie Chesser, moved on to the next level, leaving a big void. But her leadership still has an imprint on the current roster.
Of the returning players, LB Kafsky, Bailey Crumley, Ryleigh Wilson, Narissa Dawson, and Sarah Lundy are among those who are poised to lead TFS in 2026.
"We expect to make it into the state playoffs and have a winning season," adds Jimenez.
Since 2021, Tallulah Falls has won 51 games, winning a region title, advancing to the Sweet 16 or further three times, and being state-ranked in three of those seasons. Kafsky enters her junior season with 37 career goals, which ranks second on the all-time leaderboard. Crumley, a senior, has 14 to go with 21 career assists (2nd). Kafsky proved to be one of the region's most versatile players, as she notched 23 goals and also played at times as keeper. She is a 2-time All-Region selection.
Tallulah Falls opens the season on February 6 at home against Rabun County in a non-counting scrimmage, with the official first touch coming February 10 while hosting Walhalla (SC).
