Indians nail down fourth straight region championship with shutout home win
TFS downs Athens Christian in 9-0 final to secure a 4-peat of the region
The region championship runs through Tallulah Falls! The #6-ranked Indians beat Athens Christian 9-0 on Friday at home to nail down a fourth straight title.
TFS (13-1) won its 13th game in a row, and moved to 10-0 in region play.
"The team played well and they were able to move the ball efficiently throughout the game," says coach Jeremy Stille. "They were to exploit spaces and put good shots on target as well as defensively maintain composure and limit opportunities and shots for Athens Christian."
To that end, Tallulah allowed only two shots on goal during the game. Bushy Turnquest had a hat trick with three goals, while Fabricio Turner Sandoval had a brace with two goals. Avery Chatman, JT Head, Ryan Kelsick, and Tyson Hall each had one goal. Simon Gainzarain Hernando had two assists as well.
"Very proud of the guys on completing a fourth region title win in a row and looking forward to finishing the regular season next week, including senior night on Friday before we move into the state playoffs."
