Next Level: Basketball legend Neyo Bain signs with Motlow State
1,000-point scorer Neyo Bain follows the path of another such alum
Basketball standout Neyo Bain has signed his letter of intent with Motlow State Community College, electing to continue his academic and hoops career at the next level.
"Ever since I first started playing basketball, I've always had a love for the game and a goal to play at the next level," says Bain. "Now that I've earned that opportunity, it feels exciting and rewarding. I'm grateful for it, but I know the work is just getting started and I can't wait to get to it."
Bain (Nassau, Bahamas) is a 1,000-point scorer who helped guide the Indians to back-to-back Elite 8 trips, recently earned All-State honors for the second year in a row.
The 3-time All-Region guard was the team's leading scorer this season (14.3 PPG), and had the most assists (88) and steals (34).
He ended his career as one of the most decorated basketball players for the Indians, and his 1,057 points ranks fifth-most all-time. He notched well over 300 rebounds, and his 246 assists is second to only Jake Carver's 257 ('19). He also was two shy of the all-time steals record with 182, just a couple behind Michael Weidner ('17).
Bain trades his green and gold for a different shade of the same colors, joining the Motlow State Bucks, a community college in Tullahoma, TN that resides in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and are members of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association.
"The biggest factor for me choosing Motlow State was the opportunity and the belief the program showed in me," adds Bain. "From my conversations with the staff, I felt like it was the best place for me to develop my game, keep improving, and take that next step both as a player and a person."
Bain follows the path of '23 alum and former teammate Anfernee Hanna, who also was 1,000-point scorer for TFS and mentored Bain in his freshman year at TFS. Hanna played two seasons at Motlow State before transferring to Concord University.
Bain becomes the 18th all-time basketball player from Tallulah Falls to play at the next level (12th boys player), and the 114th all-time next level athlete. He is the fifth overall athlete this school year to sign, and will be recognized along with all others from the 2025-26 academic year in May at the Next Level Signing Ceremony.
