TFS baseball has seven selections for All-Region
Roache, Barron, Miller headline Tallulah Falls' All-Region picks
The All-Region baseball teams have been announced by GIAA, and Tallulah Falls had seven players selected.
Among the honorees include three 1st Team selections, two 2nd Team, and two Honorable Mentions.
1st Team All-Region
Ashton Roache, a senior utility player from Nassau, Bahamas, earns his second 1st Team All-Region honors and third All-Region honors overall. He hit .483, which was the 5th-highest average ever for TFS in a single-season. He had four homeruns, a school record 36 RBI and 47 runs (tied that record with Jordan Miller), and had a single-season record 16 doubles to pair with 28 stolen bases (3rd-most). Roache ends his career as the all-time leader in hits (113), homeruns (14), RBI (86), runs (135), doubles (33), triples (7), stolen bases (92), walks (69), and hit by pitches (45).
Drew Barron, a junior of Clarkesville, GA, was the ace of the pitching staff with seven wins and a 3.54 ERA, adding 55 strikeouts. He also hit .310 at the plate with two homers, 16 RBI, and 27 runs scored along with nine doubles. Jordan Miller had a stellar first season as a junior from Nassau, Bahamas. He batted .440 on the season with 40 hits, knocking in 18 runs while scoring a school-record 47 times. He added three doubles and four triples along with 24 stolen bases. His 68 runs scored for his career sits 3rd-most all-time.
2nd Team All-Region
Alex Stefanovic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, hit .276 with two homeruns and 18 RBI. He had seven doubles, 22 runs, and eight stolen bases as well. Leslie Sands (Nassau, Bahamas) had a solid freshman season while hitting .284 with 22 RBI along with four doubles. He had nine runs scored and registered a .389 OBP.
Honorable Mention
Jackson Savage, a Lula native and senior, posted a .360 batting average on the season with 31 hits and 20 RBI, adding seven runs and six stolen bases. He was solid behind the plate. Sean Forbes, a Nassau, Bahamas freshman, batted .286, hitting a homerun and driving in 14 runs while adding two doubles and a triple. He scored 18 runs and stole 14 bases.
