Bain, Sanjur earn GIAA All-Star game selections
Senior guards named All-Star participants for GIAA game
A pair of senior guards for Tallulah Falls have earned GIAA All-Star game selections. Both Neyo Bain for the Indians and Lia Sanjur Santos for the Lady Indians have garnered invites for the upcoming GIAA All-Star game in March. Both players were selected to play on the 'Red' team in their respective games.
Bain (Abaco, Bahamas) is averaging 14.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He leads the team in scoring and in assists (3.2), and is good for 1.1 steals per contest as well. He's shooting 48% from the field through 18 games. For his career, Bain sits at 929 career points (6th in TFS history), 208 assists (2nd), 156 steals (3rd), and has 298 rebounds.
He holds the single-game steals record of nine, set last season, and has the 2nd-most assists in a single-game and single-season. He had a 34-point game as a junior, which was just three off the school single-game mark. Bain was 1st Team All-Region and was named All-State last year, and was an All-Region HM the prior year.
Sanjur (Panama City, Panama) is third on the Lady Indians in scoring this season at 9.8 points per game, and is first in assists (2.4), second in steals (2.8), and goes for 2.9 rebounds per contest. Sanjur shoots 37% from the floor and 33% from 3-point range. Her career totals in two seasons include 219 points, 80 rebounds, 60 assists, and four blocks.
